The following is a compilation of information related to the WWII experiences of Kevin James McCracken, who served as an Airman in the Pacific Theatre. This information was written down by his wife, Lorraine, during conversations they had. All photographs, except that on the cover, were scanned from family albums. Kevin James McCracken originally named and painted the nose art for "Microbe Hunter" before it was later re-designated to the 403rd Bomb Squadron and renamed
"Pride of the Cornhuskers"
